The Man in the Black Suit

The Man in the Black Suit

I painted this after visiting the Farallones for the first time, an experience I will never forget. The islands have a sort of dark magic about them, a feeling that they’re hiding something awesome and formidable. One man knows the islands so intimately he seems to belong to them: Ron Elliott, a retired urchin diver, swims with the shadows that roam the waters of the Farallones. Proud to be called a friend, Ron is also a captain for the California White Shark Project and a truly great ambassador for white sharks. The Man in the Black Suit is the vision I have in my mind of the Farallones and its residents.

All of the proceeds go to supporting the California White Shark Project, an effort I am proud to be associated with. To learn more, visit www.californiawhitesharkproject.org.
