For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the natural world and its inhabitants, especially anything that lives underwater. Unsurprisingly, I became a fisheries biologist, but I never lost my passion for creating art. My work reflects this - gouache and pencil studies of fish and wildlife that exist at the confluence of art and science, merging the observational precision of a biologist with an artist's expressive interpretation. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, I graduated with a Bachelors degree in Fisheries Science from Virginia Tech and a Masters degree in Fisheries Management from Montana State University. I live in Montana with my wife and dogs.
