Little Belts Westslope Black and White
Westslope Cutthroat Trout, despite their namesake, are native to many drainages east of the continental divide. However, competition with non-native species such as Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout has reduced their distribution to only a fraction of their historic range. This Westslope Cutthroat Trout was caught as part of a study investigating differences in thermal tolerances between tributary populations in the Little Belt Mountains, Montana.
