Curious
Curious is a sketch study on white shark behavior and body control, specifically on how they approach foreign objects. White sharks are inquisitive but very risk averse, evaluating items of interest before engaging. The only tools white sharks have to investigate are their eyes, snout, and mouth, but prey species such as seals and sea lions can inflict serious damage. It therefore pays to be wary - a lesson often learned the hard way in bite scars and claw marks. This young male was observed off Tomales Point inspecting the California White Shark Project seal decoy, his body posture suggesting a strong but cautious curiosity.
