Code 381

Every pallid sturgeon that I've encountered has been a cool-looking fish, but Code 381 stood out from the rest. A 1997 year class female, she wasn't old enough to have the scars and weathered look of an old wild fish. But at almost 20 pounds and 4 feet, she was still a large fish, and one of the most perfect I have ever come across, with a beautiful ghostly complexion only representative of pallids. I knew when we brought her in the boat she'd end up being a painting.
